Kevin Kjorsvik Bio I grew up on a small family farm in NE North Dakota. I always had more interest in the prices my dad was getting for his grain rather than farming itself. Subsequently, this led me down the path to learn more about the underlying markets which determined these prices rather than farming itself. My first job out of college was with one of these market makers as a Compliance Officer for the Minneapolis Grain Exchange. This quickly led to a job at one of the firms at the Grain Exchange, Benson-Quinn Commodities. I started out in the accounting department, but eventually spent time working on the trading floors of the Kansas City Board of Trade and Minneapolis Grain Exchange. With the advent of electronic trading ending my floor trading career, I spent time working with country elevators as a broker for BQCI. It was in 2010 that I got the opportunity to work at one of these facilities, Harrold Terminal--a new shuttle loader in Harrold, SD. During my eight years there I orginated and merchandised grain to finally managing the whole facility. In 2018 I became the Commodities Manager for Ringneck Energy, a green field ethanol plant in nearby Onida, SD, before accepting my current position as General Manager of the storied Oahe Grain Corporation in Onida, SD almost 7 years later. I feel lucky to have had such a diverse career in the grain industry working for both small and large companies with both deep historical significance as well as those blazing new trails all with the purpose of determining the values for a variet of different commodities. My wife Michelle and I have been married for 17 wonderful years. We make our home in Pierre with our two dogs (Maci and Becks) that are absolute terrors! We enjoy traveling (especially to warm areas and beaches), trying new foods, golfing, and hunting.
