NEGOTIATED PURCHASES SUMMARIES BELOW
 
DTN COMMENTS:  Formula totals for last week were lower in all three major 
feeding states, especially in Texas: KS 56,762(-7,408), NE 31,638(-1,095), 
TX 58,428(-19,214). Total trade volume was higher in Nebraska but somewhat 
lower in Kansas, and lower in Texas:  KS 66,948(-2,437), NE 57,308(+4,591), 
TX 58,428(-22,329). New showlists appear to be about steady in 
Nebraska/Colorado, somewhat higher in Texas, and higher in Kansas. Bids and 
asking prices have yet to be established, and significant trade volume will 
likely be delayed until the second half of the week.

Beef cutouts are lower at midday (Choice 385.90 -1.17, Select 364.96 -
2.47), with light to moderate box movement (31.55 lds of choice cuts, 6.12 
lds of select cuts, 8.29 lds of trim, and 14.24 lds of ground). With a 
Choice/Select spread of 20.94. Live cattle futures are mixed, mostly 
moderately higher at midday, while feeder issues are also mixed, mostly 
modestly lower.
